The Contortionist tells the story of señor Chao, the most important man in his town, who is about to rest, since the next day his photograph will be taken so he can remain forever in the memory of men. However, his peaceful sleep will be interrupted by an unbearable mosquito that he will try to scare away. In his fight, he will end up adopting a curious posture.
The book revolves around a Cupisnique-style ceremonial bottle (1200-200 BC), which shows a man passing his legs over his back, touching his head with his feet.
