This story takes place in a marine setting: Don Antonio, the lighthouse keeper, who lives alone on an islet, bumps into a young albatross one night. The albatross does not know how to fly and shows no interest in learning to do so. Don Antonio finds the situation worrying: his new friend will not be able to leave with his companions in search of a place to spend the winter. He then decides to teach the albatross to fly, not even suspecting the result of his enthusiastic lessons.
Comments
“This book starts from the story of apparently simple facts to reach a background of beauty and wisdom. A book that leads us to think in the sense of what is natural, what is accustomed and vocation in our lives.”
