Although her first production was linked to poetry, her current work oscillates between poetry and album books, and has also ventured into the informative book realm. Her first children’s book, \u2018Don Antonio and the albatros\u2019, was co-authored with the poet Jos\u00e9 Watanabe.
\nShe has received various awards for her work. With \u2018You better, mastodon!\u2019 she won the illustrated album contest \u201cA la orilla del viento\u201d organized by the Economic Culture Fund (Fondo de Cultura Econ\u00f3mica). Three of her books – Good Night, Martina, Breakfast and Inside a Zebra – are part of the White Ravens catalogue. Inside a Zebra also received an honorable mention in the Talking Pictures Award granted by the New York Rights Fair. She has received as well the Cuatrogatos Foundation Award and the UNESCO Rio Catedra de Leitura Award for \u2018Where is Thomas?\u2019, book that was selected among the 30 best published books in Brazil in 2019.<\/p>\n
On October 2019, she won the Hispano-American Children\u2019s Poetry Prize for her book \u2018The sea\u2019. She has recently published \u2018A song I don’t Know\u2019, illustrated by Juan Palomino and \u2018Sheep count flowers\u2019, illustrated by Amanda Mijangos.<\/p>\n
In 2022 her book Cristina plays was included in rhe Highly Recommended Books (Fundalectura) and won the prize The Best (Banco del Libro). Two of her books, A song I know not and Sister and Brother are included in the IBBY Honour List. A Sleepless Night was included in the Top Ten Best Books in Spanish by the Public Library of New York. <\/p>\n
Her work has been translated in Korean, Japanese, English, Portuguese and French.
\nShe has studied Philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica del Per\u00fa) and has a Master’s degree in children’s literature and books from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Barce
